It is our philosophy that our residence halls and apartments provide an invaluable living and learning experience for students. We believe community living provides the individual with vital interdisciplinary contact. Also, because of the large number of hours students spend practicing or rehearsing their art, we feel the residence halls and apartments are the safest housing option for our students.

Mission Statement

The Department of Residence Life Programs team is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive community for both a high school and college student population. We advocate for the enrichment of student artists experiences by promoting self-awareness, providing healthy social opportunities, identifying resources for success, and presenting educational programs focused on developing lifelong skills. We strive to prepare a residential environment that gives all students an opportunity to be innovative, creative, and reach their fullest potential. We commit to proactively and efficiently addressing students’ housing needs by creating a safe and healthy living environment.

If you have any questions about living on campus, please contact the Office of Residence Life Programs at (336) 770.3373 or e-mail us at ResLife@UNCSA.edu

NEW HIGH SCHOOL OR COLLEGE APPLICANTS TO UNCSA

Information will be released to your personal and UNCSA email within approximately one (1) week following the processing of your deposit, beginning in March. Applications are due June 1.

CURRENT UNCSA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Information regarding High School Life applications will be sent out in March for returning UNCSA High School students.

CURRENT UNCSA COLLEGE STUDENTS LIVING ON CAMPUS

Information for the 2024-25 Housing Selection will go out in late February, including information for the application to be released from your housing requirement. All students will be notified once these applications are available, as will all students wanting to appeal their campus housing requirement.

Submission of a housing application does not guarantee a space on campus - students must select a room during housing selection in order to secure a space on campus. Any students exempt from the housing requirement who do not complete this process will need to enter a waitlist for on-campus housing.

College students are generally required to reside on campus for their first two years enrolled at the University. The following students are considered exempt from the requirement to live on campus:

  • Students who are married or living with a dependent
  • Students who are domiciled with a parent within a 25 mile radius of the campus at the time of enrollment
  • Graduate students
  • Part-time students (less than 8 credit hours)
  • College students who are classified as a CIII (juniors) CIV (seniors)
  • Students turning 21 or over during the fall semester
  • UNCSA High School graduates who are in their sophomore year
